We don’t (really) recommend exercising (much)
Just admit it: simply looking at this picture makes you want to pick up a dumbbell, doesn’t it?
For years I have been writing about how we don’t recommend exercising, about how our members lose weight “on the go”
There are always people who will throw hate at me. „How dare you Valentin?!”
✅ GREAT THEORETICIANS
When it comes to theory, each of us is a professor emeritus. It seems like we all have PhD’s in nutrition and sport science.
In theory, what’s the big catch: you’re overweight? All you have to do in order to lose weight is to eat less and move more.
If it’s that easy, why are there so many nutritionists, dieticians and physicians?
What’s the big deal? You’re fat? Eat less, move more.
It’s really embarrassing for anyone to pay someone else to tell them what they already knew, right?
✅ IT’S THE PRACTICE THAT KILLS ME
I constantly hear the classic thing: “I know exactly what I have to do, but the practice kills me”.
Are you certain you’re knowledgeable? Do you really know what you have to do?
If you do, why don’t you apply what you know? Why don’t you put it into practice?
Do you lack motivation? Or is it actually that your theory cannot be sustainably put into action? For life?
✅ FOOD
You already know our philosophy: it’s the simplest weight loss method in the universe.
Eat only when you’re hungry, eat as much FOOD as you need until you are full.
What does FOOD mean? It means soups, main courses, omelettes, just like our parents and grandparents used to eat.
But NO: sweets, bread, alcohol, sodas, rice, fries, bacon, salami, sausages.
Meaning: no foods with a huge number of calories per 100 grams.
You’re thinking – “this cannot get any easier”. But it does.
✅ FOOD MINDSET
You can treat yourself to a glass of wine occasionally. You can sometimes go for ice cream or some cake on the weekend.
From what I hear, this was the norm 40-50 years ago. One would get sweets in the weekend from the confectionery or in church.
The problem? Those huge trays of “home-made” cakes and pies and the ice cream boxes in the fridge.
These are the things (among others) making you fat, sick and frustrated.
And they will ensure a future full with frustration and health issues for your children.
✅ 2-FOR-1
Your child’s future would already be set up for bariatric surgery. Price has gone down, it’s now only 2500 EUR to have the surgery in some Turkish clinics.
I know dozens of people who have “succeeded”. You’re probably also considering this type of surgery – which downright means cutting into a healthy organ.
Just so you can keep on eating the same junk that made you fat in the first place.
When your child will grow and he’ll be obese, you’re going to blame tablets, phones or other devices.
But what you’re not thinking of: the little cupboard drawer full of sweets means amputations. Caused by diabetes.
Go get your stomach cut, be the best example for your child.
It’s OK, you’ll also get rid of diabetes.
It’s a 2-for-1 promotion.
✅ BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD
OK, so you’re overweight. So what’s the big deal?
All you have to do to lose weight is eat less and move more.
Let’s be honest. You know what you have to do to lose weight.
You’ll give up bread, fries, pastries and alcohol and you’ll just melt away, right?
Kilograms will fly off of you like crazy. And then you’ll hear stuff like:
“Oh, you lost so much weight! Are you sick?”
“Stop losing weight, you lost too much of it. You looked better before”.
Then what will you do? You’ll get back to eating bread and sweets and drinking beer and wine.
And you’ll gain those kilograms right back.
It’s so good you’re listening to your loving and caring peers.
✅ EXERCISE MORE
You know very well that in the process of losing weight, besides the attention you should pay to your food intake, it does help to move and exercise more.
Exercise consumes calories, you know that. So more is better, right?
It’s like when eating food: the less you eat, the faster you lose weight.
So you arrived at the same solution I discovered myself.
Ever since I was young, that’s what I’ve done towards losing weight.
I used to eat very little (and badly, because I didn’t have the knowledge) and exercise a lot.
So my life from 10 to 28 years old was defined by the yo-yo effect. And you know why?
For short periods of time, I used to eat TOO little and exercise TOO much.
I was pressing “both pedals” to the metal.
Admit it: simply looking at this picture makes you want to take out your credit card and get a gym subscription, doesn’t it?
These pictures are here for this exact purpose: to make you BUY into the idea of exercising (or something for yourself).
You know damn well that for years you have been paying for gym subscriptions without actually going to the gym. You went maybe a few times a year.
Don’t worry. In my 41 years on this earth, I have never lifted a tractor tire and I promise you won’t either.
These pictures are there to manipulate you into buying the idea of exercising.
But most likely you would be throwing your money out the window.
✅ COMPENSATION EFFECT 1
You know what happens when you go hungry. All that has to happen for your initial motivation to fade away is for time to pass.
For how many weeks in a row can you go hungry?
Then sweet cravings come along, ever more often, ever more intensely.
Then you crack. You raid the fridge. You can’t stop.
Then all that weight you lost comes right back. It’s called compensation effect.
That’s why it’s not good to go hungry. That’s why you should eat food until you’re full – just like your sensei says.
You don’t have to believe me. Hundreds, thousands, I dare to say tens of thousands of people have lost dozens and dozens of kilograms of weight just by eating like I preach above.
No counting calories. No weighing food.
And without going hungry.
✅ COMPENSATION EFFECT 2
You know damn well that after those classes at the gym or after long cycling tours or after those morning runs and hard training session you only want one thing: to raid the fridge.
You know damn well that high intensity exercise increases your appetite and food cravings.
You can’t tell me that’s not true.
What do you think? That I haven’t done classes? I have. For years.
I ran marathons and did triathlons for a decade.
I cycled for tens of thousands of kilometers.
You know damn well: high intensity and long lasting exercise will bring along the compensation effect.
This means you’ll eat more.
And you’ll realize that you’re eating a “healthy” diet, but you’re not losing weight.
You don’t lose weight because you eat too much. You eat too much because you exercise too much.
✅ COMPENSATION EFFECT 3
There is an interesting study that measured the metabolic rates during and after training of teenagers of normal weight, as well as obese teenagers.
The following conclusions were drawn: in the morning, during training, the metabolic rate increases; in the afternoon, the metabolic rate decreases.
Study participants chose to be more static after training, compensate with a less active routing for the rest of the day.

The conclusion is simple: no matter if you change your daily routine; by the end of the day, energy consumption tends to remain the same.
✅ COMPENSATION EFFECT 4
Another study analyzed the correlation between daily metabolic rate in connection with physical activity levels.
When comparing static population in urban areas with active populations in more traditional areas or wild animals in captivity, no differences in daily metabolic rates were observed.

A more intense training session will be compensated by a less active routine for the rest of the day.
✅ LOSE WEIGHT ON THE GO
When did you ever feel like emptying the fridge after a walk? Most likely, never.
Walking does not bring along a compensation effect.
Walking is safe, it can be done every day.
Walking can be done by anyone, at any age.
Walking does not damage your joints, walking will grease your joints with synovial fluid.
Ladies, walking consumes around 220 calories per hour.
Gents, you can count on consuming 250, maybe even 300 calories per hour by walking.
One hour of walking per day for a year = -10 kilograms of weight lost without changing your diet.
✅ LOSE WEIGHT EFFORTLESSLY
How much does it cost to work standing up at your Stand Desk? Nothing.
Wait till you see: 6-7 hours of working standing up will consume another 250 calories.
The beauty of walking and working standing up is that these activities consume calories without doing anything special. And they don’t cost a thing.
Until you finish work you’ll also be done with the exercising part.
A little walking, a little standing, a little attention paid to what you eat.
And by this time next year, you will have lost 40 kilograms of weight.
Effortlessly. No gym memberships. No frustrations. Free.
✅ I DIDN’T EVEN FEEL IT
Most members say after 6 months in my program that they haven’t even realized how they lost 20-30 kilograms.
They all say: “I ate well, I slept, I walked”.
I think maybe you’re tired of being hungry and of doing strange workouts. I think you’re looking for a sustainable weight loss method, one that you can follow for the rest of your life.
