I was working on writing another article, but I stopped everything after receiving this comment:
„Can I find an article about ice cream on your Substack? 🥹”
The truth is I haven’t bought ice cream for the freezer in 14 years. You know, what I’m talking about – those 1 kilo boxes...
I simply realized that temptations shouldn’t be in my fridge.
I realized that if I want to give up obesity for the rest of my life, I have to give up my old habits – habits that have trapped me in an overweight body – 40+ kilos overweight, that is.
I have reorganized my thinking patterns and gave up the habit of buying big boxes of ice cream – „for the guests”, like they say.
Now I sometimes eat ice cream with my kids on the weekend, after cycling for a few hours.
I always get a cone – one single cup.
For 2-3 years, ice cream has only been a once-in-a-while treat.
It’s not that I don’t like ice cream anymore. I simply don’t find joy anymore in the idea of eating sugar.
The day after eating sugar, I feel somewhat strange, depressed, in a bad mood, with less energy...
Over 14 years of maintaining my weight, the habit of buying ice cream by the kilo has disappeared.
14 years ago there was no sugar-free ice cream. Nowadays, there is.
Ever since I gave up sugar, I have desperately been looking for alternatives. Pizza, bread, sweets, ice cream...
For years, I have been duped over and over – until I decided to study. You know what I mean: from the keto way of life to finding all sorts of substitutes.
And I think you know me by now: I NEVER STOP LEARNING.
The truth is, I learned my most valuable lessons from interacting with all of you – the members of the Body Engineering community.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart – for the privilege of being alongside you, even for a short time.
Everything I know I learned with you.
I am grateful for all your help over the last decade. Every day – from the moment I open my eyes in the morning.
I don’t know how you can stand me. I honestly don’t know how I can stand myself many times. 😑
Many times, after reading an article I just published, I’m thinking that maybe I shouldn’t have been that frank or brutal in my approach.
But this is who I am: life is short and I believe there is no sugar-coating when it comes to the really important things – meaning our health and our children’s health.
Last one, and then we’ll get back to the ice cream.
Every time I go out for sushi with my children, I tell them:
“Let’s thank the members of the Body Engineering community for this meal”.
The truth is that you are the ones putting food on our table and helping us put our kids through school. For me, Cosmin, Corina, Razvan (IT) and Octavian.
We are hereby taking a moment to thank you.
Ah yes, ice cream.
If you want to eat regular ice cream, it makes no sense reading further.
What is next is reserved to our elite members and to those seeking to optimize for weight loss and effortlessly keeping their figure.
If you are still eating sweets, pastries, if you are still drinking alcohol, fresh juices and sugary sodas, then it really makes no difference if you’re eating a low-calorie or “sugar-free” ice cream.
I went to all major supermarket chains today (on foot – for 3 hours).
