The later you go to bed (and the less you sleep) the earlier in the day and more intensely you will feel those hunger pangs.
I mean, you wake up feeling hungry. If you start eating early on in the day, you will keep eating all through the day.
The feeling of hunger is given by ghrelin (a hormone) that reaches the brain.
When your brain tells you to eat NOW, do you really think you can resist it?
Late bedtime + few hours of sleep = feeling hungry more often and more intensely.
The more often you eat, the more likely you are to eat more energy (more calories) than you need by the end of the day.
✅ BON APPETIT!
The later you go to bed (and the less you sleep), the later the feeling of satiety will come when you eat.
Basically, you will sit at the dining table and discover you can't stop eating.
Every time you’ll sit down to eat, you’ll tend to eat more than you normally would.
You’ll look at others who just leave food in their plate and you won't understand what the hell is going on.
The feeling of satiety is given by leptin (a hormone) that reaches the brain.
Lack of sleep and fructose consumption (from sugar, honey, fruit, fresh juice, maple or agave syrup) disrupts your satiety system and you’ll end up not being able to stop eating.

✅ SOMETHING SWEET

Lack of sleep increases the frequency and intensity of sweet cravings.

If you were at home and you didn't have bread, chips, sweets, or crackers in your cupboard, then it would be ok.
It's not the appetite that makes you fat, it's the access to junk food.
After all, you do have a pack of crackers on your desk, not a can of sardines (like me). 🤷

The excuses of sweet addicts are varied:
"but I have the sweets cabinet for my children"
"but I have ice cream in the freezer for when I have guests"
"but my husband is thin and he eats anything he wants and we have it in the house"
"but we live with grandma and she bakes cookies for the children twice a week"
"but I can't force my family to follow a diet just because I'm fat"
The last one is the strongest.
Why would it be OK to keep junk food in the house?
✅ JUNK
Juices, crisps, sweets, biscuits, ice cream, Nutella: that’s not food, that’s rubbish. Junk. Exactly. You read that right: junk.
No one benefits from eating those foods, neither the grandparents suffering from hypertension (who are actually diabetics), nor the children - who are already fat and "addicted" to that junk.
Corporations actually are the only ones who benefit.
