How do you see yourself in 10 years? How about 20? I think you've heard me say this before.
I think it's a really good question especially if you're in your 40s and have a family.
Not only are you not allowed to have serious health problems for the next 30 years…
But you need to be healthy and functional in order to be able to support your family.
✅ DO YOU HAVE LIFE INSURANCE?
Maybe you chose a plan from one of the insurance companies and started contributing a monthly sum.
It's normal because you can't know what the future holds in store for you and it's good to make sure in time.
What does having insurance mean?
It means that if you have an accident or something happens to you, your family will receive a sum of money.
It’s like car insurance, but for your own body.
✅ BUT…
But have you looked at your current lifestyle?
Sure, accidents cannot be predicted. However, some things are more or less predictable.
For example:
A lot of studies show that maintaining a normal weight can prevent (or delay – often for decades) the onset of the 3 diseases that shorten our lives as a global community:
diabetes;
cardiovascular disease;
and cancer.
That means you can have more control over your health than you think.
✅ PREVENTION
By maintaining a normal weight, you can actively do prevention like a professional.
Every meal where you eat good food is an investment in your future;
Every night you go to bed earlier is an investment in your future;
Every day you exercise is an investment in your future;
Every day you choose to stress less about things is an investment in your future;
Every vice you give up (alcohol, tobacco, sugar, flour, oil) is an investment in your future.
And you know what the best part is?
✅ FREE PREVENTION
That it costs you absolutely nothing extra to:
walk more;
do 10-15 minutes of dumbbell exercise at home;
go to bed earlier;
give up junk food;
give up shady entourage;
give up alcohol and tobacco;
eat more vegetables, fish, eggs, soups and main courses;
stop buying powders and all kinds of supplements.
It costs you absolutely nothing to prevent.
Of course, some routine medical tests and maybe a colonoscopy after the age of 40 will set you back a couple of dollars / euros / pounds.
But if you have a minimal level of education, you’ll do these anyway.
So it really won't cost you anything extra to do prevention.
✅ YOU WILL SAVE MONEY
What's more, all the steps mentioned above are not only free.
But will help you save tens of thousands of euros/dollars/pounds in the next decade.
If you walk more, you’ll save on fuel money;
If you maintain your weight, you won't have to change your wardrobe;
If you maintain your weight, you won`t waste your money on body treatments, massages, miracle supplements, teas, collagen, etc.
If you give up junk food (pretzels, bagels, chips, chocolates, snacks), you’ll save at least 2 Euros daily. Which will amount 7000+ Euros in 10 years;
If you give up alcohol and tobacco, the amounts saved in 10 years are colossal.
But it's not the amount of money saved that constitute the real benefit.
✅ PROFIT
The real benefit is to be 60-70 years old and not depend on anyone.
The real benefit is to be healthy, in full strength and not to have to take a handful of pills.
You will see others spend all their pension money on pills and go to hospitals...
…while you’ll be spending your money on vacations.
✅ IT’S A SHAME 1
Obesity, smoking and alcohol consumption are in a causal relationship to the occurrence of cancer.
Obesity has been clinically proven to be causally related to the occurrence of 13 types of cancer.
I guess you don't need proof about drinking and smoking.
What’s the point of working for 40 years only to end up sick and helpless at 60 years old?
How would you like to leave tens of thousands of Euros per year at the pharmacy?
Not so much, I take it.
While doing what I’ve been doing for over a decade now, I have met thousands of people between the ages of 40 and 45 who were already taking pills by the fistful.
I have acquaintances, friends, family members, high school and college classmates who are in their 40's and are obese and already taking lots of pills for:
lowering their cholesterol;
lowering their triglycerides;
lowering their uric acid;
lowering their blood sugar;
lowering their blood pressure.
It's a shame to be 40 years old, to have young children and be obese and sick. It's called negligence.
✅ IT’S A SHAME 2
It's a shame to know what you must do, to have vital info in here for free and yet do nothing.
You claim that health is priceless, yet you do nothing.
What does that say about you?
✅ IT’S A SHAME 3
Let's say you're financially secure, but you are also obese (and sick).
Obesity goes hand in hand with disease.
Spare me the body positivity stories blah. There is no such thing as a healthy obese person.
Go talk to any doctor and they’ll explain the risks you are exposing yourself to.
Well, isn't it a shame to be able to go on vacations where most people only dream of, but to be unable to go because you have tens of extra kilos?
Not being able to take your kids on holiday to see the world because you can't walk for more than 30 minutes?
I guess climbing a mountain or trekking on forest trails are out of the question.
When you're a ball of fat, walking for 15-20 minutes is a serious strain.
Are you really not ashamed of yourself?
Of course, who am I to question your lifestyle?
Someone who was almost 50 kilos overweight at the age of 18.
Someone who almost 15 years ago lost weight and has been keeping that weight off ever since.
✅ IT’S A SHAME 4
Let's say you don't have enough money from one month to the next.
Can you really afford to be obese and sick?
Where would you find money for hospitals or medicine when you can’t afford food and to support your children?
If you're in the hospital, who should go to work? And who will watch the children?
Are you comfortable with the children coming to see you in a hospital ward? You are 40 not 80.
Are you comfortable with the idea of becoming a burden to your children? They aren’t even in high school yet.
I get that you’re not giving much thought about yourself.
But don’t you care about your children?
✅ I TAKE IT THAT YOU DON’T KNOW
I understand you don’t really know what to do to give up obesity for good.
Lots of information is contradictory. I understand this very well.
Ever since I was in 2nd grade, I have been struggling with weight loss. It wasn't until I was 28 that I started to learne what to do to lose weight.
