If you haven't done anything for yourself in 2024, you'll probably say: "I’ll let the winter holidays pass and I'll start my diet in January."
Translation: you'll stuff yourself like it's the end of the world, but you'll be consoled by the thought that you'll start your diet after the holidays.
You said the same thing last year. Remember? And 2 years ago as well. And you still haven't done anything.
Here's what I can do to help you start losing weight in January:
I can be an example of success;
I will write constantly in order for you to make the decision to act;
I will offer you a clear plan of action;
I will guide you through the implementation process;
I will give you a great price for accessing my premium articles;
I will try to make it as easy for you.
This Substack contains articles on topics from my legendary program, a program that has helped many members lose 30-40-60-80 kilos:
without counting calories;
without weighing any food;
without eating at specific times;
without training as if preparing for the Olympics.
✅ YOU ARE A LITTLE BIT LIKE ME
If you are reading these lines, I bet you are a little bit like me:
a person concerned with prevention and the way they look;
someone who is not complacent with being overweight;
someone who likes to make an effort in the present knowing that it will bring benefits in the future.
It is already December 17th.
Many people have “turned off” their engines and are preparing for their vacation.
At the beginning of the year there are still some days when you’re going to be off. With some extra PTO days, many people will actually return to work on January 12th.
Basically, for many people…
3 weeks of feast and relaxation lie ahead.
✅ START ON SUNDAY
I have already told you that, in my case, a day starts the night before.
I make my coffee in the evening, I then go to bed early so I can wake up early and start writing.
I use the same thinking pattern about the beginning of the week.
The week for me starts on Sunday, not on Monday.
If I set out to start something important on Monday, then the preparation begins on Sunday.
✅ “I’LL START GOING TO THE GYM ON MONDAY”
For example, if you want to start going to the gym on Monday, I advise you to:
go to the gym on Sunday to see the gym and sign up;
pack your gym equipment on Sunday evening;
prepare your post-workout food casserole on Sunday evening;
go to bed early on Sunday evening so you’ll have enough energy for the workout.
I guess that if you want to go to the gym on Monday you wouldn’t:
drink 3 bottles of wine on Sunday night;
stay up watching TV shows until 2 am;
spend Monday morning looking for your gym equipment;
sign the gym contract on Monday morning while still practically asleep;
eat pretzels with yoghurt after your training.
What I want to emphasize is that success comes to those who are pre-pared.
Pre-pared = ready beforehand.
✅ START IN DECEMBER
If you really want to start changing your habits and give up on obesity in January,
I believe it's very important that you start taking the first steps in December.
You may think that weight loss comes from the combination of carefully selected food and adequate exercise.
You're absolutely right.
✅ START GOING TO THE GYM TODAY
If you've set yourself the goal of going to the gym starting from January, my suggestion is to go get your gym membership today.
Gyms are empty in December anyway.
As a beginner, this is an advantage for you. The same as for someone who hasn't exercised in a long time.
Until January, you will have time to:
get used to the gym and the way there;
get on the treadmill a few times;
use the sauna and the relaxation pool;
start warming up with light weights;
structure a training plan;
see if you need training gloves, a belt or swimming equipment and put those on the Christmas wish list.
That way, on January 2nd, you'll be pre-pared for success.
You'll start the year in the exact manner you are imagining.
✅ “I’LL START DIETING AFTER THE HOLIDAYS”
Really? When will that be exactly? On January 1st? That’s a Wednesday.
Or maybe on January 6th because it's a Monday? No, wait, because Monday, January 6th, is Holy Epiphany Day, it’s an official religious holiday, and therefore it's a day off.
Then January 7th is the religious Feast of St. John. Another day off.
You just remembered that you took a few days off at the end of that week. You'll be away with the kids somewhere.
You’ll then take a look at the calendar and decide (firmly):
"I’ll start on Monday, January 13th, because it will also be the first day back in the office."
Like hell you will... It’s Monday the 13th – it’s an unlucky day.
Also, imagine this. After almost one month away from work...
On Monday, January 13th, office tasks will hit you like a freight train.
And I can already foresee it.
You'll wake up one day around Easter and think: "Oh my, summer is coming, I urgently need to do something to lose weight."
✅ START BEFORE THE NEW YEAR
If you've been planning to change your diet starting January, my suggestion is the following.
Start thoroughly researching between Christmas and New Year's Eve so you know exactly what you need to do.
During this holiday period, you'll have the time to:
read relevant articles;
do the necessary shopping before New Year's Eve;
take the first step towards success on January 1st: the big clean-up;
on January 1st, when others are still finishing their leftover food “because it's a shame to throw it away", you will have already had your first proper meals.
✅ MONDAY, JANUARY 6TH
Monday, January 6th, when others are still tired, bloated and still have alcohol in their veins:
You’ll be almost a week into a clean diet.
You won’t be bloated anymore.
You will already have your first set of recommended medical tests.
You'll already be on the right track.
You’ll already be sleeping better.
You’ll already be displaying progress and motivation.
✅ IT WOULD BE A SHAME NOT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE
Enthusiasm and motivation are at their peak at the beginning of the year.
It would be a shame not to take advantage of them in order to start off strong.
Between Christmas and New Year's Eve:
Make your shopping lists with “diet” foods before New Year’s Eve;
Make sure you have adequate food in your fridge, freezer and cupboards on January 1st for a strong start;
Maybe you can ask Santa to bring you an AirFryer so you can quickly and easily cook your food in 2025.
✅ YOU’RE DREAMING
It’s no use just dreaming about how you’re going to start your diet after the holidays.
It’s all for nothing if you don’t have a plan and don’t know exactly what you have to do.
It’s no use dreaming about it if you don’t take action.
I think the lack of a clear plan was the main reason why you postponed starting in January 2024.
I’m here to help you make a plan and put it into practice:
I’ll teach you which foods will help you lose weight;
I’ll teach you how to shop;
I’ll teach you how to organize your meals;
I’ll teach you what and how to cook.
You can already get an idea of what's coming by going through the official guide.
The Body Engineering Official Guide for 2025 is coming up tomorrow, December 18th 2024.
I'm here to prepare you for success.
Like Antoine de Saint-Exupéry once wrote:
“A goal without a plan is just a wish”
Maybe it's time for you to stop letting things just happen. It’s time to take decisive action.
Thank you for your attention.
