The first thing I want to mention from the beginning is that I DO NOT RECOMMEND protein bars for daily consumption. Also, I am no affiliated with any commercial entity of any sort.
✅ BARS
Sometimes, I bar 2 protein bars for the kids from Lidl. I’ll pack them in their school lunch 2 or 3 times a week.
I don’t have protein bars in my house because I would just eat them at night when I’d wake up.
It’s very simple: I am unhinged and I don’t want to invest any amount of will to abstain from eating. So I simply don’t keep protein bars in my house.
Protein bars contain no sugar and more protein, but I stay away from them because they represent dessert as well and I treat them as such.
✅ OCCASIONALLY
Occasionally, on the weekend or on a day when I’m burning for something sweet and I am about town, it so happens that I buy such a protein bar.
This maybe happens twice a month. So, on average, I don’t even get to eat one protein bar a week.
For example, the clock turns 3 PM and I haven’t had anything to eat.
I just go into any shop and I find some light ham and some light cheese and I wrap them nicely into a roll (no bread).
I don’t waste time buying tomatoes and cucumbers. I just eat that roll on the street, like some Neanderthalian. I’ll even get some dessert: 2-3 apples.
Many times I, can find a large variety of protein bars in the shops.
🏆 PRO Tip: During moments of stress, instead of buying a bag of chips or sweets, pastries or pretzels, I prefer buying a protein bar and 2 apples and I’m satisfied.
In the end, if I eat something, there should be some protein in there as well, not just sugar, flour and oil.
