Diabetes in a bottle
I developed an expert eye after having met with thousands of people. I can spot a diabetic or a pre-diabetic from 30 meters away.
I became so good at one point that I could estimate the person’s insulin value with 90% accuracy just by looking at that person.
One of our key phrases in the “sales” process back in the day was:
"If you go get your medical tests done and your insulin level is not between 18 and 23 (for example), I’m going to give you the program for free."
For people with triglycerides over 1,000 we had another formula:
"If in 3 months you don't lower those values to less than 100, you’ll get your money back."
✅ REMARKABLE RESULTS
I remember one time back at HQ that someone who had triglycerides over 1,000 came in and said:
"I got to a level of 95 after exactly 3 months. Exactly like you said, bro. You're cool!"
Nothing brings me greater satisfaction than knowing I can provide simple solutions to complex problems and seeing people achieve remarkable results.
Normalizing weight and regular medical tests at 40 can, according to studies, extend your life by 5-10 years.
You do know yourself that there are no obese centennials.
The obese simply die first and the cause of death is not their weight.
Extra pounds increase the risk of diabetes, heart disease and cancer. The latter two are killing us.
✅ YOU ARE IN CONTROL
If you want to do some prevention, just know that it is in your power to lose weight and give up smoking and alcohol.
It is in your power to become more active and at walk for at least an hour a day.
It is in your power to go to bed earlier more often.
It is within your power to eat an omelet with vegetables, a soup and a main course without aby bread, fries or rice.
You don't need a big wallet or a high IQ for remarkable results in record time.
You don't have to be rich, smart or intelligent, you just have to really want it and follow some commonsense rules.
✅ IT’S SAD…
…seeing young but obese and sick parents with their children at the playground with bottles of juice next to them and not being able to say anything to them.
If you tell them, they’ll get upset, they’ll take it personally. It’s no use explaining to them that I was obese, sick and pre-diabetic myself.
✅ I WRITE HERE
But it's good that I can write, because I have the certainty, based on the messages I receive, that at least 1% of those who read will implement my advice.
That means that out of the 6,666 people who receive this newsletter, 66 will maybe apply my advice in real life. That's still incredibly good.
66 people applying something every day something means…
…72000 people in 3 years.
You too can help spread the message with a share if you want.
✅ SUGAR BY THE STRAW
I really believe the only way you can make children fat all the way to obesity is to feed them sugar through a straw.
It is otherwise impossible to fatten up a child who naturally keeps moving all day long.
I understand that some parents don't care at all about how they look and find it normal to have beautiful and healthy fat children. It's OK. Everyone is free to choose.
There is another category of people: those who don't give a damn about how they look. They’ll be content being many kilos overweight, but still they’ll be a little concerned about their children's health.
The 3rd category is us: the ones who are very concerned about our health and the health of our children.
I will repeat that so you’ll have it written nice and big for better visibility.
I really believe the only way you can make children fat all the way to obesity is to feed them sugar through a straw.
The more we are, the easier it will be for us in the future. If you want our numbers to grow, you can also become an influencer by sharing my article.
This way, chances increase for you to surround yourself with more and more parents who have an appropriate conduct, similar to yours.
One of the biggest challenges for me, over my decades of searching for a sustainable solution to weightloss and weight maintenance, has been the frequent confusion between "healthy” and “useful".
I think I haven't had any sugary soda since I was 12 or so. So probably 30 years.
But I switched to Coke Zero and 100% natural juices. You know the ones: Santal, Granini, Pfanner.
The bottle had “100% natural” written on it and it’s like it was driving me mad (and blind).
For decades I avoided sugary sodas, but instead I drank literal tanks of 100% natural juices.
✅ HEALTHY NATURAL JUICES
I know what you're going to say.
"Valentin, but I never buy my kids sugary sodas."
But aren't you the first one to buy them a fresh orange juice on the terrace?
And you wouldn’t hesitate for a second to buy them another similar drink if they ask, would you?
Aren’t you the one getting them a juice box full of vitamins every time they ask?
Isn’t it true that you have at least one bottle of 100% natural healthy juice at home?
Isn’t it true that you always buy 100% natural and healthy juices for kids’ parties?
All the juices presented above have an average of 10% sugar.
This is where people's brains get a short-circuit. I always receive the same reply:
"Yes Valentin, but the natural sugar in fruit is not the same as the sugar in Fanta and it metabolizes differently."
In people’s minds, nothing is more holy and sacred than the healthy fresh orange juice.
“So what do you propose, that we stop eating fruit? Tell me, don't you give fruit to your children?"
The only thing I am saying is don't drink fruit through a straw.
For example, I give my children whole oranges and let them struggle to peel and then eat them.
The rule is always the same: after eating food (eggs, soup, a main course with meat), you can eat as much fruit as you want.
For example, my son Eric eats frozen mangoes every day. He likes raspberries, he also eats apples because he sees me eating them.
My daughter Bea eats fruit as well. Here is a picture from one of our vacations.
✅ THE PROBLEM WITH FRESH JUICES
Children can drink 2 glasses of fresh juice in 20-30 minutes, but it will take them a week to eat the equivalent of that juice in actual oranges.
Two glasses of 200 ml of fresh juice contain 40 grams of sugar, i.e. 10 teaspoons of sugar.
I guess you would never add 5 teaspoons of sugar in your child’s cup of tea, would you?
Could YOU drink a cup of tea with an extra 5 teaspoons of sugar?
The truth is: behind the "healthy and natural" mirage there is a hidden ton of sugar.
✅ SUGAR VS. SUGAR FROM FRUITS
"But Valentin, how dare you equate sugar with sugar from fruits?!?”
Do you mean it's all the same? Is it the same if I drink a glass of Fanta and a glass of freshly squeezed BIO orange juice?
Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying.
Granulated sugar = glucose + fructose
Sugar from fruits = glucose + fructose
Sugar from honey = glucose + fructose
Sugar from maple syrup = glucose + fructose
Sugar from agave syrup = glucose + fructose
Sugar from coconut = glucose + fructose
Classic granulated sugar is extracted from sugar cane.
Or from sugar beet.
You can make granulated sugar from practically any kind of root or fruit.
The only reason granulated sugar is extracted from cane or beet is because there are no cheaper alternatives.
Look, for example, there is such a thing as granulated sugar extracted from apples.
It can be bought here: CLICK.
✅ BUT WHAT IS SUGAR ACTUALLY?
Everyone knows that sugar is a source of energy. If you need energy, you can turn to sugar.
Energy drinks contain sugar. That's what sugar does: it energizes.
Sugar contains energy.
But where exactly does this energy come from?
During photosynthesis, plants convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose (a simple sugar) using energy from the sun.
This process effectively stores solar energy in the chemical bonds of glucose molecules.
When plants produce sugar, they basically store that solar energy in the more complex form of glucose and fructose.
When we consume sugar, our bodies break down the sugar into glucose and fructose, releasing stored energy to be used by our cells.
In a way, sugar can be considered a form of solar energy storage.
Do you understand that basically everything that contains sugar is solar energy?
It doesn't matter if the sugar comes from sugar cane or sugar beet, plum jam, sugar-free jam, 100% natural orange or apple juice.
From a chemical perspective, everything you see above translates to 10% sugar and 90% water with insignificant amounts of vitamins within that 100% natural fruit juice.
Do you now understand that "100% natural" means practically nothing?
"But what are you saying, Valentin, that I should let my child have chemicals rather than a glass of fresh juice?"
Not. I’m saying give the child water, lemonade and whole fruits. That's what I'm saying.
And if you go to the movies or you’re throwing a party, it's absolutely fine to buy Fanta Zero, Schweppes Zero, 7Up Zero, Mirinda Zero.
My opinion is that it is never, ever worth it to give your child calories to drink.
And that applies to you too. You must know something about our philosophy.
Here at Body Engineering we don’t drink calories.
Yes, you guessed it, no beer, no wine, no yogurt, no milk, no fresh juices, no cream soups or smoothies.
More on that in a future episode.
