I'm going to give you some insights on belly fat, the most unsightly and unhealthy body fat.
A lot of belly fat is the first signal that you may have pre-diabetes and don't know it.
✅ WHAT DOES FAT MEAN?
The fat that we eat or that we have stored in our bodies represents energy.
Butter, olive oil, coconut oil, peanut oils, nuts, seeds, or bacon represent energy.
Too much energy in the "pipes" along with little physical effort will lead, over time, to that energy getting stored in the body.
Exactly: "keto" doesn't help you get rid of your belly, no matter what anyone tells you. But you have already found that out from practice.
You can't eat bacon, drink oil, and get rid of your own “bacon”.
It’s physically impossible.
✅ ARE YOU SHAPED LIKE A PEAR?
The woman is genetically designed to store fat only in the lower part of the body, from the bellybutton down.
The "pear" shape means you have excellent medical test results.
You are healthy as a horse!
The body fat still present on your legs and thighs is just energy for “dark days”.
✅ ARE YOU SHAPED LIKE AN APPLE?
Do you have a lot of belly fat? Are people offering you their seat on the subway?
Do your friends congratulate you on becoming pregnant? (Even though you're not...)
During pregnancy it is absolutely natural for the body to deposit fat in the abdominal area - to keep the baby warm when winter comes.
There is a normal hormonal process that facilitates this phenomenon during pregnancy. It's called insulin resistance.
✅ INSULIN
Insulin is a hormone produced by an organ called the pancreas in some Beta cells.
The main role of insulin is the one of a glucose bus.
After you have eaten bread, rice, potatoes, sweets, fruit, or other carbohydrates, the body will extract the glucose and will send it into the blood flow.
When the amount of glucose in the blood increases, the pancreas receives a signal and sends buses (insulin) to transport the glucose to the 2 storage units: the liver and the muscles.
Normally, in the morning, 12 hours after your last meal, the normal level of insulin is very low, between 2 and 4 uIU/mL.
Although, strangely, the normal reference range is between 2 - 24.9 uIU/mL.
Insulin rises as soon as you eat your first meal. Then, after 2-3 hours it will return to normal values of 2-4 uIU/mL.
Gents: a superb level for insulin in the morning is still between 2-4 uIU/mL for you as well.
✅ INSULIN RESISTANCE
During pregnancy, the pancreas will produce more insulin, even when you are not eating, but especially when you eat food.
That is, you can wake up (12 hours after the last meal) with an insulin value of 12 uUI/mL, 5-6x higher than what would be normal.
Insulin resistance facilitates weight gain during pregnancy.
